Welcome to UpTakes, the patented gesture-controlled video camera app. Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Content You Create UpTakes accesses your device’s camera, microphone, and photo library to record video clips and save them to your device. All videos you record are stored locally on your device and in your photo library. We do not upload, access, or store your videos on any server.

1.2 Device and Usage Data When you use UpTakes, we automatically collect non-personal data to improve the app experience, including:

  • Device type, model, and operating system version
  • App usage events (such as recording started, clip kept, clip deleted, orientation changes)
  • Session frequency and duration
  • Subscription status and purchase history
  • App performance data including crash logs and error reports

1.3 Third-Party Services UpTakes uses the following third-party services that collect data on our behalf:

1.4 App Tracking Transparency UpTakes respects Apple’s App Tracking Transparency framework. You will be asked whether you allow UpTakes to track your activity across other companies’ apps and websites. If you choose “Ask App Not to Track,” advertising identifiers will not be shared with third-party services. You can change this choice at any time in your device’s Settings under Privacy & Security → Tracking.

2. How We Use Your Data

We use collected data to:

  • Provide and maintain the app’s functionality
  • Process subscriptions and in-app purchases
  • Measure advertising campaign effectiveness and install attribution
  • Analyze app usage patterns to improve features and performance
  • Identify and fix bugs, crashes, and performance issues
  • Understand which features are used most to guide future development

We do not use your data to build personal advertising profiles or sell your data to third parties.

3. Data We Do NOT Collect

  • We do not access, view, upload, or store your photos or videos

  • We do not collect biometric data (the motion sensors used for gesture detection are processed entirely on your device and never transmitted)

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. Data is shared only with the third-party services listed in Section 1.3 for the purposes described, and as necessary to:

  • Process your subscription through Apple and RevenueCat
  • Measure advertising performance through AppsFlyer and Meta
  • Comply with legal obligations
  • Protect our rights, safety, or property

5. Data Retention

We retain automatically collected usage data for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy. Subscription data is retained by RevenueCat for the duration of your subscription and as required by applicable law. You can request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us.

6. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect data from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Children’s Privacy

UpTakes is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
